Tracy Murphy: Calling for Court Support

Asha’s Farm Sanctuary owner, Tracy Murphy, is facing charges for caring for two cows, Ismael and Little Willow, who wandered onto her property in 2022. Tracy needs a strong show of support, with members of the community standing by her throughout this process. Having a visible presence in the Wheatfield, NY courtroom will help demonstrate that compassion for animals is not a crime.

The first day of jury selection and opening statements, on October 3rd, is especially crucial. If you can attend in person that day—or any day throughout the trial—your presence will be impactful. The trial is expected to continue through the 4th, and potentially into the following week, October 8th-11th. Court starts at 8:45 AM, but it is recommended to arrive by 8:00-8:15 AM to give yourself adequate time to be seated.

For those attending in person, please keep in mind some general courtroom etiquette:

  • Dress conservatively in business or business-casual attire. Do not wear vegan logos/messages.
  • Remain quiet and respectful during the proceedings.
  • Avoid bringing signs, banners, or any materials that could be considered disruptive.

Please respond to this Facebook event and an admin will reach out with a link to join the support group chat. You will learn how to support Tracy in the group chat, and we will use it to coordinate rides, meeting spots, etc. Please join the event if you can only attend for one day.
